Ardmore’s Trenzel Johnson – Athlete Spotlight Presented by Excel Therapy

Standout athlete and Ardmore High School senior Trenzel Johnson has enjoyed some memorable moments with the Tigers during his playing career, but few can take the place of the experience of making it to the state title game in football.

“My most memorable moment at AHS is making it to the state game my senior year, something that hasn’t been done in 25 years. Making it to state,” said Johnson.

Johnson, also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, believes it is important to remember where you come from and to share his beliefs and experiences as a student-athlete with others.

“I always try to stay humble and to be a Christian on and off the field,” said Johnson.

His attitude and willingness to work hard are two things his coaches love about him. Being a good teammate is something Johnson has focused on and he works hard to set the example for others.

“Being a good teammate means to help someone who may not be having a good day at practice or in a game. Cheer them up in a good way, not a bad way,” said Johnson.

Competing in Class 5A was something Johnson and the Tigers were excited to do. For Johnson, it meant competing against some of the top talent in the class.

“Being able to compete against some of the best dudes in 5A football is something I will never forget,” said Johnson. “My teammates are my brothers. I know I can always depend on them for anything.”

Johnson will soon graduate from Ardmore High School and take his talents down the road to another school with a rich football tradition.

“After I graduate, I plan to continue my education and football career at East Central University and major in psychology,” said Johnson.

One person who will be there to support Johnson is his mother.

“My mom has been my biggest influence! She’s my rock. I’ll do anything for my mom and I know she’ll do the same for me,” said Johnson.
