OFFENSE

The Pirates’ pro-style offense is primarily focused on the run game, looking to utilize the speed and experience of returning running backs Hunter Brown (5-9, 140, Sr.) and Brent Smith (5-8, 135, Sr.). At tight end, Micah Smith (5-8, 135, Sr.) is another great offensive weapon who has the potential to be a big playmaker. The O-line has three returning starters in Jacob Henry (5-10, 250, Jr.), Austin Jennings (6-0, 235, Jr.) and Ryker Salyer (6-2, 275, Jr.). These three powerful linemen are a stronghold up front and a good foundation for the offense to build on.

DEFENSE

Operating out of a 3-2 base formation, Cyril looks to be a blitzing, gap defense. In the secondary, Micah Smith will see plenty of action at safety. Joining him in the back, look for Jose Rivera (6-1, 170, Sr.) to be a threat to offenses at cornerback. Kobie Missey (5-9, 150, Jr.) and Hunter Brown (5-9, 140, Sr.), both at linebacker positions, play key roles in making this defense successful. Defensive end Elijah Smith (5-10, 165, Sr.) is another great asset. Look for Hunter Thompson (6-2, 295, Sr.) as a force to be reckoned with at noseguard.
