A balanced run/pass attack is on the menu for the Tigers this season under head coach Jeff Coakley. “We should be very diverse on offense,” Coakley said. “We like to use the tight end as much as possible and be very balanced between run and pass.” Brayden Nicholes (5-10, 185, Sr.) starts at quarterback, making him a three-year starter for the Tigers. “Nicholes knows the offense well,” Coakley said. Landen Johnson (6-1, 170, So.) is one of those tight ends the offense is expected to use in multiple ways. Austin Bond (6-3, 195, Jr.) is a big target at wide receiver and creates matchup issues for smaller defensive backs. Dallon Lindsey (5-11, 180, Sr.) gets the nod at running back and Bryce Coon (6-0, 190, Sr.) figures into the passing game from his wideout spot.

“Defensively we return seven starters,” Coakley said. “The defense should be exciting with the experience they have.” Lindsey is a really quick, hard-hitting defensive end that is ready for his senior year. Lindsey is a key weapon to slow down the offenses they will face in Class C2 this season. Playing opposite Lindsey is Connor Leiphardt (5-10, 200, So.). The pair can wreck an offense with their ability to get upfield and force everything inside the tackles. Gavin Fisher (5-10, 220, Sr.) is the leader of the defensive line. Rylan Belcher (5-7, 175, So.) and Cole Evans (6-0, 185, So.) are a pair of young linebackers Coakley will leans on for big plays this season. Landon Sechrist (5-8, 145, So.) takes over one of the corner jobs this season. The Tigers kickoff the season with back-to-back road games at Canton and Carnegie before hosting Cyril on September 13.
