Weatherford’s Daniel Hubin – Athlete of the Month Presented by Pond Agency American National

Outside linebacker Daniel Hubin is excited to get his senior season underway. Hubin and his teammates have worked hard this offseason to prepare for the 2019 campaign.

“My favorite thing about my teammates is their willingness to compete in the classroom, the weight room, and on the field,” said Hubin. “A good teammate shows up to workouts and practice ready to do their job well. A good leader, however, shows up every day ready to give extra effort on each rep, and push their teammates to be the best they can be at the same time.”

Hubin and several other teammates are leading the Eagles and setting high goals for the themselves and the team.

“My goals this season are to stay healthy, start every game, and to practice with my team on Thanksgiving Day,” said Hubin.

Also a baseball player, Hubin is a lead-off hitter and plays catcher and center field.

“In addition to baseball and football, I am also a percussionist for the high school band. I plan to graduate as a valedictorian for the class of 2020 as well,” said Hubin.

The Weatherford faithful should be very excited to watch this group play. Hubin and company are poised for a solid season.

“Fans can expect strong senior leadership this year. The entire senior class crushed our summer workouts, and we are excited to continue working towards our goal of a state championship. We know that this is our last opportunity, so we are prepared to leave it all out there on the field,” said Hubin.

When he’s not in sports you can find Hubin spending his spare time studying for school, practicing for band or relaxing with his family. His plans after graduation include college, but not in Oklahoma.

“After graduation, I plan to continue my education at Kansas State University where I will be a chemistry major.”
