Minco Bulldogs Football Feature – Presented by Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma

Trigger man Cavin Russell (6-1, 190, Sr.) only played in five games last year so his stats are not through the roof, but this kid can sling it and should have a great senior season. In five games Russell accounted for 1,316 yards and 13 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Russell has next-level talent on the offensive line with Rody Schneider (6-4, 290, Sr.) anchoring the line at tackle. Caleb Carruth (6-2, 260, Sr.) is another solid player up front and will start at guard. Kenny Fouch (6-0, 185, Sr.) and Parker Winters (6-3, 190, Sr.) give Russell two nice targets in the passing game. Andrew Carballo (5-10, 195, Sr.) will tote the rock this season, giving the Bulldogs a hard runner in the backfield. With seven starters returning to the offense and three guys that could have easily made the VYPE Top 100, Minco is looking like one of the teams to beat again this season in Class A.

If you like defensive line play, then you need to watch defensive tackle Aiden Howry (6-1, 290, Jr.). This human log jam is on several watch lists coming into the season thanks to his play on the defensive line and his relentless pursuit of the ball. A pair of Burchfield brothers will look to cause havoc this season. Cashus Burchfield (6-2, 220, Jr.) will start at defensive end while Corbin Burchfield (6-2, 175, Jr.) gets the nod at one of the outside linebacker spots. Look for Orlando Vazquez (5-8, 210, Jr.) at inside linebacker where his speed and ability to make tackles will be huge for the Bulldogs. Fouch will bounce to the defense and start at corner with Winters playing free safety. Look for the Bulldogs to base the defense in the 4-2-5 with other packages they can adjust into. “We have a big senior class that have been through a lot of big games,” said coach Brock Wardlaw. “Looking forward to what this group can do.” Colby Spears joins the staff and will coach offensive line and linebackers.
