Plainview’s Cody Marr – Character Counts Presented by Carter County Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM

Plainview High School football player Cody Marr is more than eager to get this season started. Marr is a testament to overcoming adversity after suffering an ACL injury that sidelined him last season.

Although he was injured very badly, he was a prime leader for the Indians and was still a supportive teammate.

“To be a good teammate and leader for me means to encourage and communicate with the guys you are playing with,” said Marr.

Marr has high hopes for the team going into the new football season. Not only to build a brotherhood but to finish number one.

“To build a brotherhood and hopefully play good in the process… and that gold ball would be pretty nice,” said Marr.

Cody is very diverse with his activities inside and outside of school. Playing football and being a wrestler for the school while also being a member of the Choir and the Chickasaw Nation leadership program.

No matter what is happening on the field with the Plainview football team, Cody will always have his teammates backs and it goes both ways.

“What I love most about my team is that we always try to play as one and my teammates

always have my back no matter the circumstances,” said Marr.

When Friday comes around, that is Marr’s favorite day. He gets excited to see young men playing with and against each other leaving everything out on the field. He has intentions of a big season for Plainview and giving the fans what they want, wins.

Cody Marr has big plans for the future. Plans not only to play football but to soon graduate and earn a degree.

“I plan to play football after I graduate and pursue a degree in kinesiology.”
