Lawton’s Kinyon Parker: Cameron University Athlete Spotlight

Cameron University guard Kinyon Parker, originally from Lawton, is in his redshirt freshman year, but has come into the program with an open mind and is learning a new system from head coach Andrew Brown. The Lawton Eisenhower High School standout knew Cameron University was the right choice for him. “What I liked most about Cameron was the coaching staff and the players already in the program,” said Parker. Adjusting to college life always takes a little time. For Parker, adjusting to the college game was a challenge he’s enjoyed taking on this season. “The biggest adjustment to oing from high school basketball to college basketball is the speed of the game,’ said Parker. This season the Aggies start didn’t go as planned, but as of late, the team is coming together and getting it figured out. Parker, while only seeing limited action, is positive about their chances and believes the team will come around.

“What I love most about being here is my teammates,” said Parker. “We kind of started rough, but we are rolling and we’re a powerful, potent team.” One thing Parker has learned is that every day, in the classroom, in practice or in a game, you must come prepared and ready. “For any high school students who may come to Cameron University next year, come ready to compete and work hard,” said Parker.
