Caddo-Kiowa Technology Center offers their students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in a field that they want to pursue after high school. After they graduate from the tech center, they will be able to go straight into their career of choice or they can continue their education at the next level.

Marcus Mindemann is a senior at Apache High School, but he also attends Caddo-Kiowa Tech Center. He is enrolled in the Principles of Biomedical Sciences program and he plans on attending Cameron University in Lawton after he graduates to continue his education. “It’s a tough class and it demands hard work,” he said. “But it will help me with finishing what I start and that will help me in the future as well.”

Marcus says he first heard about tech from a friend that attended there, but when he heard about the college credits that it offers, he became interested. “It is the closest to a college class that I could get and it can help me with my future classes.”

At Apache, Mindemann is a member of the Warriors football and basketball teams. He says he enjoys football because being around his teammates and getting wins. “I love the teamwork and bonding with friends and new people. And I enjoy winning because it brings out the best in me. I also enjoy the physical challenge it gives me.”

Mindemann says that he has been playing football for a while. “I got started playing football when my dad signed me up to play when I was in the second grade. I loved the game then and have played it ever since.”

There have been a lot of people that had a part of shaping Marcus into the student, player, and person he is today, but there is one person who has made the biggest impact. “My dad is definitely my role model,” he said. “He is a hard worker and he does so much for our family. I am very thankful for him.”
