MacArthur’s DD Davis – Character Counts Presented By Arvest Bank

DD Davis, senior running back for Lawton MacArthur is one of those student athletes that coaches love to have on their team and in their classroom.

“Extremely hard worker, very persistent and determined,” states Lori Manning FCA Leader at Lawton MacArthur. “He’s the kind of kid that just doesn’t miss; not a meeting, not a workout, he’s always there early and gives one hundred percent in everything he does. He’s the epitome of a Christian athlete.”

When he was in Pre-K, DD started playing flag football and has never looked back. It was a bumpy season with the team going 6-5. He’s had so many incredible memories from playing football, but his favorite memory was beating El Reno on senior night, the second best team in their class. He also runs track and was ranked 3rd in the state for the 110m hurdles in 2019.

“Even though he was our starting running back, there were times when he just didn’t get to run the ball whole a lot, based on the game we were playing,” states Head Football Coach Brett Manning. “He did a good job of not being a selfish player, he’s very accepting of his role. He did everything he could to help the team win.”

More than just an athlete, DD’s favorite subjects are math and science and he really enjoys learning Spanish. He wants to pursue a career in Marine biology while playing college football. He’s a gym rat and that is where you likely to find him in his free time. He loves spending time with his family, eating and going to his youth group Bible studies.
