Altus’ Chase Epperson – Character Counts Presented By Bar S Foods
- Updated: March 29, 2020
The Altus Character Counts Honor goes to Chase Epperson, a senior wrestler for the Bulldogs. Epperson currently has a 6-6 record and says he was disappointed in the start of his season, but he’s grown in the process.
“I’ve worked a lot on things that I needed to,” said Epperson, “and I’ve improved. Right now, I think I’m in pretty good shape and I’m excited about how I’m going to perform at State.”
With that improvement Epperson has big goals for the state tournament.
“My goal is to win it all of course, but I think I have a good shot at getting third place I just have to make sure that I’m in the right frame of mind,” said Epperson.
Outside of wrestling Epperson also plays wide receiver and linebacker for the Bulldog football team. He also competes in track, in the past he’s been a thrower, but wants to try for one of the sprint relays this Spring.
Epperson is a big-time performer in the classroom boasting a 3.8 GPA. After high school he has big plans. Chase wants to attend either Illinois Wesleyan or Colorado to major in biology and neuroscience. He then plans on going to medical school and being a doctor.
“Character to me is doing the right thing when nobody is looking,” said Epperson, “you know what right and wrong is and just always doing the right thing.”
