Hinton’s Ian Deviney – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Caddo Kiowa Tech Center

Ian Deviney is a junior at Hinton High School where he runs track and is involved in several activities including FFA, FCCLA and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Deviney is also enrolled at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center where he is in the Construction program. “I love the sport because it builds relationships and builds character within you and your teammates and I’ve always kind of came naturally to running,” said Deviney. “I enrolled into Caddo Kiowa Tech because I wanted to get a head start on my life after high school, and get my feet wet a little in the construction area.”

While at Caddo Kiowa Tech, Deviney has learned important aspects of construction and skills that will help him upon graduating. “I have enjoyed being able to learn how to build things and learn how things are put together to make the thing stay together that we are building and the opportunities that the class gives me,” said Deviney.

Success in the classroom is important to Deviney. “Caddo Kiowa Tech is a great school to attend because they are welcoming and very good at helping people to succeed in academics and in life,” said Deviney. “After high school I’m really leaning towards going to run track in college and pursuing a career in architecture.”

Away from school, Deviney enjoys spending time with family and friends or practice his skills on the drums. “In my free time I like to go hang out with my friends, help my family with anything they need help with. I also like to play music and try to imitate some great artists and drummers.”
